The less than 13-pound machine packs a powerful cleaning punch. The four-row DeepReach PowerBrush Roll works with BISSELL formula to remove pet messes like dog and cat urine, vomit and mud. It's easy to quickly grab if Fido has an accident on the area rug or tracks mud in from the backyard. Q:
How do you get this machine clean? What’s recommended in the manual isn’t enough and despite wiping it up it smells!

Answer: I’ve only used mine three times so far each time I rinsed out the water reservoir of the dirty water took both water reservoirs off and Rinsed it out in my kitchen sink just laid it on the cabinet turned it upside down and run water all through it rinsed it out good dried it a little bit and it’s already to go again Did not leave the dirty water in it
Answer: Vinegar will corrode and rust the components.

Q:
what is the width of the cleaning path on this model?
Answer: Mfr website says 7.5”. I think it’s more than that-about 10”. It’s not real wide. All I know is it works great. Not intended to clean an entire house but it will. You just need to take more time doing it that you would with a larger unit.
Answer: The width of the brush is 8 inches -+.

Q:
will it suck water from wet carpet?
Answer: It's not a WetVac but, yes, whatever water it puts into the carpet....it will take out. Be aware this is not like vacuuming where you push it back and forth somewhat quickly....slow and steady wins the race! Our carpets dry fairly quickly but we do live in the desert.
Answer: It’s not a wet/dry vacuum but it does pick up water you spray out from shampooed.
Answer: Yes it will suck of water and carpet cleaner solution.
Answer: I think so, if the carpet isn't overly saturated.
Answer: Heck no, not very well. Maybe the worst I’ve ever had
Answer: In deed it will.

Q:
Does anyone know why the dirty water tank leak water when being removed? It happens to us at first time use, leaving dirty water all on the floor!
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: I make sure to keep the Collection tank level, don’t tip it forward otherwise the dirty water will leak out the front lip. I noticed that when I was at the sink and tipped it.
Answer: The part that screws in isn't tightened enough . It happened to me . The black round part on the dirty water tank .
Answer: A little residual dripping is not uncommon with mine but only maybe one or two drops. If it’s leaking pretty good I would inspect the tank for cracks or some other issue because it shouldn’t do that.
Answer: Mine does not leak, you have to make sure you pick it up by the handle and let down

Whats better a single tank reservoir or 2 separate tanks?
Answer: This model is better than the one I had from 10 years ago, which collected grime near the brush and made a mess. Here you unsnap the tank and empty and are ready to go again. Fluid tank stays clean

Q:
Is it worth getting this for small daily cleans and bigger one for deep cleans?
Answer: If you have the storage space and budget for both, that might be a good idea. If the big one is as heavy and awkward as I've heard, it might be hard to take out and use on a daily basis. Whereas this one is light and easy -- like a vacuum cleaner.
Answer: This is for carpets. I guess you could use it daily. It works as good if not better than the bigger cleaners. I've owned a few and actually used it after renting one. It did a much better job. It's light weight and comes apart easily to clean. So far this is the best.

Q:
Looking for more of a steam cleaner for lightly soiled traffic areas thru my bedrooms. Afraid this might be too rough. Is it gentle on fibers?
Answer: This is a great carpet cleaner and has a motorized roller. It is not a steamer. It is gentle on the carpet.
Answer: Not knowing what your carpet fibers are, I cannot give a definitive answer, but this is a light weight shampooer which has done no damage to my carpet, which is a medium nap fiber. If you have a vacuum with a rotating brush, I think the shampoo brush is pretty much the same action. My gut feeling is, it will not damage your carpet. However, if this is an expensive wool carpet, I would get professional advice.

Q:
does this machine remove red stains?
Answer: I’m sure for red stains you would use 3 parts hydrogen peroxide then 1 part dish liquid and let it soak for 20 minutes to an hour. Then use the bissell to clean it up that should work. The bissell is great to pull the stain out once it soaks. I would also use warm water when filling up your bissell for best results.
Answer: I use White Vinegar and Water to kill stains along with Hydrogen Peroxide if necessary mixed with water. This Machine has cleaned everything I’ve needed to and We have 6 pets.
Answer: This machine does not discriminate against any color of the stains!!! ALL STAINS MATTER!
Answer: That’s not a machine issue. That would be a carpet stain cleaner. YouTube!
Answer: This machine works well for me. I have dogs and it’s easy to maneuver. And do spot cleaning. I think the quality of the cleaning product that you use is the key.
Answer: Not sure but I would assume it would depend on how you pretreat it.

Q:
Dog hair.... does this have a problem with long dog hair wrapping around the brush roller?
Answer: No problem with pet hair at all. This is the most powerful steam cleaner ever. It has a large powerful brush that turns dog hair into balls of hair. The amazing part is the balls of hair do not clog the brush, but are left in piles on the carpet or rug for you to pick up easy. I have never seen a stronger steam cleaner. I have owned the biggest and the best. It will do large areas too, but requires a lot of changing the water. I love mine.
Answer: I am sorry I can’t answer your question because I do not have indoor pets. I will tell you that a lot of carpet lint comes out of the brush and deposits on the carpet. I just picked it up. I did not have any problems with it clogging up the roller at all.
Answer: If possible I would vacuum your carpet before cleaning it as it will spit out huge hair balls and clog up the brush area.
Answer: No

Q:
will it suck water from wet carpet?
Answer: It's not a WetVac but, yes, whatever water it puts into the carpet....it will take out. Be aware this is not like vacuuming where you push it back and forth somewhat quickly....slow and steady wins the race! Our carpets dry fairly quickly but we do live in the desert.
Answer: It’s not a wet/dry vacuum but it does pick up water you spray out from shampooed.
Answer: Yes it will suck of water and carpet cleaner solution.
Answer: I think so, if the carpet isn't overly saturated.

Is this also a vacuum?
Answer: No, it's a carpet cleaner although in a sense it's a vacuum in that it lays down the cleaning solution and then vacuums the watery solution up on the carpet. But used principally as a vacuum... No.
Answer: It is not a vacuum but it does pick up things as it is shampooing the rug. It does a good job of sucking dirt deep from the carpet. I vacuum our rugs all the time but the water that was collected shows that it is very dark from all the things it picks up

Q:
does this machine remove red stains?
YouTube!

Product reviews of BISSELL TurboClean PowerBrush Pet Carpet Cleaner, 2987
Dan : Great little cleaner
We have a commercial carpet cleaner, whereas we currently have over 1500 sq ft of carpet in our house. It does a great job, but it is very heavy (44lbs). We bought this cleaner to do small jobs. We use it on high traffic areas that need cleaning more frequently and when one of our pets make a mess. Frankly I was shocked at how well it works, and how easy it is to clean-up. It will not replace our commercial unit, but it will mean we won’t have to drag that thing out as often for small jobs. For small jobs this can’t be beat.
Gayle Traver : It Rocks!
I have to admit, I was EXTREMELY skeptical when I ordered this. I thought, the price is good but is it going to be good? It was a Bissell so I thought surely it can't be horrible. But I had NO idea! I live in a two bedroom condo. I have two dogs and the occasional throw up or accident. I have had two other carpet cleaners in years past, one was over $300.00. They are heavy, hard to use, and I was not happy with them. I received this one today and it was a snap to put together! It is a smaller version of the bigger ones, the tanks aren't as big but honest to God, it cleans better than they ever did! It cleaned up two small stains and blood from where one of the dogs had chewed on her sore paw! I would recommend this in a heartbeat for an apartment dweller or someone who needs to clean occasional messes quickly. You have to empty and refill a lot so it would not be a good purchase for a large home but it is definitely worth purchasing. I gave this four stars instead of five simply because if cleaning a large area you have to fill and empty a lot, but again, I love this machine!
MICHELLE KOSTECKA : Absolutely incredible!
I decided to buy this particular carpet cleaner based on a review that someone else left. She was so excited about it that I was like well I have to try it! She was not wrong... It is truly the best carpet cleaner I have ever seen in my life. I have had people come out to clean my carpet professionally that did not do as good of a job as this carpet cleaner did. I have three cats that live with me and occasionally some dogs that visit. My carpet was a mess and I have been counting the days until I could replace it. I bought this to get me by until I could do that. It got so much hair out of the carpet that I honestly didn't even know was there and it made it feel fluffy again and smell wonderful! I seriously no longer have any desire to replace my carpet because this cleaner changed my carpet from dirty and matted to clean, bright, and fluffy! I would absolutely recommend it!
Debra : GREAT LITTLE MACHINE
In order to explain how great this thing is, sadly, it is necessary to admit how dirty my carpets were. Ugh. But let's not focus on that. Let's just say that I had noticed that, even after buying a new vacuum, my carpets just didn't seem to be as 'fluffy' as as they used to. Even right after vacuuming they didn't look like they'd been vacuumed.
Then I started doing the math. One person + two retrievers + 1 (or 2) long haired cats + lived in this house a year. Oops. My animals never have accidents in the house - but that's still a LOT of hair and muddy paws etc.
My house also doesn't have an excess of storage and my last carpet cleaner was HUGE (and heavy), so the fact that this is pretty small was a plus.
It was delivered yesterday and took about 2 minutes to snap together (without looking at the instructions). I did give the operating instructions a quick 30 second skim since my last carpet cleaner was a dinosaur. Same process.
Overall the machine is pretty light weight and moves easily, even with the water on board. It is probably not as heavy as my vacuum and a LOT light than the last carpet cleaner I had. There was a small bottle of carpet cleaner included - just enough to do my hallway. I had ordered another bottle. But you do go through the stuff pretty quickly, so it's probably something I'll keep on hand.
The ONLY downfall I can find w/ this is that the water canisters are very small. I refilled 4 times just doing my (not that long) hallway. So that's a little of a pain. BUT - I also realize that if the canisters were larger the entire unit would have to be enlarged - which would negate one of the things I like about the machine: its small size. Therefore I will happily make several extra trips to empty/fill the reservoirs in order to facilitate the machine's smaller footprint.
Now for the nitty-gritty: This little baby cleans. After just one pass I can't believe how much better the carpet looks. I also like that it really extracts a lot of the water back out of the carpet - I did put a fan on in the hall/ room, but still I was really happy w/ how fast the carpet dried.
LizG : Cleans better than I expected
This Bissel definitely cleaned better than I expected. I was only expecting a surface clean but it really picked up dirt down deep in my carpet. It was very lightweight and easy to use. I felt like I was refilling the solution pretty quickly but hopefully after I use this on a regular basis I won't need as many passes on each area I am cleaning. I would definitely rather keep refilling it than to have to deal with a heavier machine. The smaller size lets me get spaces between large pieces of furniture so I don't have to move them around. I don't have pets to clean up after but this will be wonderful to keep up with spot messes and I will definitely use it on a regular schedule to keep my whole carpet clean and fresh. Wonderful product.
Angela thao : Read the manual before use
The manual tells you everything you need to know to operate this machine efficiently. Outside of the manual instructions, I would say that the vacuum only sucks in half the bucket of dirty water from the carpets before it stops sucking and you have to empty it out. You will know it is time when there is no water passing coming into the see-through water holder. This is definitely not for deep cleaning, if used one carpet I'd say it only cleans the top and mid-layer. If your carpet has years of buildup, it can revive the carpet but do not expect it to return to its original color. You can use any carpet cleaner liquid with this rather than the same-brand cleaner that is quiet expensive. The more you use the vacuum, the faster you go through a whole bottle. I cleaned 3 rooms that haven't been deep cleaned in years and used up about 2-3 bottles of carpet cleaner. The brush collects a ton of dust and hair which clumps up in the machine, so every time you empty out the dirty water or refill the cleaner water, I recommend reaching your hands under the machine with the power off to grab the clumps of wet debris and making sure the entrance to the water spout and vacuum is not blocked. This will ensure you suck up as much water out of your carpet as possible. It's best to go slow with the vacuum so it can take its time scrubbing each part of carpet especially the stained parts which means it takes quiet a while to finish a room. For spot-cleaning, this is the best. I leave the cleaner water in it for standby, and plug it in to clean that one spot and it's cleaned under a minute. Simple if you read the manual.
Malina : Would rather spend the money on a more powerful machine
Not at all happy with this. I feel like my old handheld carpet cleaner was more effective and easier to use. Besides the water tank being too small in my opinion (have to refill it too often and twice the tank emptied right away even though I didn’t push for it to) this left a mess behind. Granted, I cleaned a wool rug then used it on regular carpet. But, nonetheless.... I really did not expect the machine to keep leaving clumps of wool behind all over the carpet. Such a mess. Took it all apart three times, cleaned everything around the brush, checked that no more fibers were anywhere that I could see, then turned the machine back on for it to leave another mess. I don’t get it. I guess it’s not meant for wool rugs and maybe I missed that it’s not to be used on wool area rugs. Also, I don’t find the brush power that effective. I wasn’t sure if it was working half the time and definitely did not get stains out easily. On/off button isn’t in the best location. Cord is a bit short. Leaks and leaves a puddle underneath Positive notes... it’s super easy to out together, light weight.
Amazon Customer : Safety Concern.... Caught on Fire
Be careful if you purchase this carpet cleaner. It was put together correctly and when it was plugged into the outlet it began smoking. A definite safety concern.
Flow Child : From Dirty to Clean in Minutes.
I am not one who walks on my carpet with shoes on after coming from outside. AND visitors take their shoes off at the door before coming in. I vacuum often. Yet, my carpet was this dirty!!!!!! ???????????? That Bissell stand up carpet cleaner did the trick!!!! Well worth my $100.00 investment.
What I don't like: The dirty water container doesn't hold the same amount of fluid as the clean water container. I had to dump the dirty water often even though there was 1/4 of the clean water left. So, what I did to combat that was add more clean water and solution for me to just keep going and clean the area twice..
J. Chappell : Can you be in love with a carpet cleaner?
I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting this to be as great as it is. It's on par with rug doctor rental machine quality, except in a size that I can maneuver and fill and empty without spilling funky water everywhere. Are my socks wet? No, because this baby sucks harder than a cougar at last call. When I tell you it takes care of business, it takes care of BUSINESS. I pretreated the carpets with dollar tree carpet spray and then this perfect little package came in and took care of the heavy lifting. Dog has an accident? Easy. Kids spill ketchup behind the chair and don't tell you for 3 weeks? Done. You forget about your plant in the living room until it's a dry dirt brick so you over water it in an attempt to revive it and the dirt water leaks and you think you just have to live with this brown stain on your white carpet for the rest of forever? Wrong. I love this carpet cleaner more than Toby Keith loves that bar.
T Brown : Cleans well, but low-capacity tank is a burden
Pros: very easy to use; I was up-and-running within minutes of unpackaging the device. Cleans well.
Cons: for an 8x10-foot area rug, I used as suggested and had to stop and refill the cleaning solution tank three times — four tanks total for a medium area rug.
It seems like this product is best for spot cleaning and not for doing an entire rug, much less wall-to-wall carpeting.
Regrettably, I returned this product, but at least I’m happy that Amazon has such a great policy around that.
Alice Park : Effective wet vac on a budget
I used to have the similar model by Hoover, but had to dispose of it because the brush roll belt broke very soon into use. I like this Bissell one better because it’s easier to maintain and a little more compact. The clean solution tank also doesn’t leak like the Hoover one does. The dirty water tank is also easier to rinse out and clean as well.
Assembly was easy. Insert the handle into the main “stem”/“spine” of the vacuum, insert that into the base, and insert the clean solution tank into its appropriate spot. The vacuum came with a warning to tighten the dirty water tank before use, but it was already tightened when I tried to tighten it.
My only complaints are that it doesn’t dry as effectively as I’d like, and that you can’t tell how dirty the water being sucked up is until after the dirty water in the tank has settled. Per the picture of the paper towel, the carpet still retains some moisture/dampness despite drying a couple times. And the instructions say to keep vacuuming over the spot until the water runs clear, but I actually can’t tell that the water is dirty when it’s getting sucked up, because the water was very sudsy/white. I tried to vary the solution dilution but no matter what, the water still looked white/clean.

Amazon Customer : Light weight, very easy to use.
Years ago I decided that I found it annoying to have an outside company drag their hoses through the house to clean my wall to wall carpets. I then purchased a full sized Rug Doctor and lugged it around until I felt that was too much of a problem. I have a Bissell Green Machine which I have liked and used to spot clean the carpet. A week ago I thought there must be an intermediate effective carpet cleaning machine so that I wouldn't have to lift the 23 lb large Rug Doctor nor get on my hands and knees to use the Green Machine. And woolah I found the Bissell turboclean powerbrush! Used it for the first time yesterday and it indeed is a great carpet cleaning machine. It's the perfect size at 13 lbs and is as effective as the full sized rug doctor. I'm very pleased and, yes, you can use it for large sized wall to wall carpet. Get it!
DMRuss : Works great for a low investment. Great on carpet--not designed for stairs
I have used the cleaner on some very dirty carpet. The results have been very good. Not perfect but the results were beyond my expectations as the traffic patterns were bad. I've had this carpet professionally cleaned in the past and the results were not as good as this machine provided. It is capable of doing an entire house but because of the small width and small tank sizes a larger machine would be easier to use and faster. However I think this is an extremely well designed unit. It is very light and very easy to use. It is too wide for stairs and does not include any accessories for stairs. I bought it so I can keep up with areas that get the worst traffic and either rent a larger unit or hire a cleaner for entire house.
Overall I think it is very well worth the low cost. It costs less than most vacuum cleaners.
Ryan : Blown away by how clean our carpets are now!
I was blown away by how much more effective and efficient this carpet cleaner was compared to our old clunky carpet cleaner. It is very lightweight and easy to assemble, ready to go within 2 min out of the box!! With three little ones and dog at home, my wife and I vacuum the main living areas every other day to pick up all of the loose crumbs, dirt, and dog hair. I couldn’t believe how much more there was hidden in the carpet that our vacuum couldn’t reach, and our old carpet cleaner never cleaned out!
Pros: Lightweight Easy assembly Easy to see how full/empty your water tanks are Easy to clean after use, including bristles Powerful suction Great clean
Cons: Clean water tank a little small, needed lots of refilling
Overall, I love how clean the carpets feel now and feel much better about letting the kids roll around on the floors! Wish we would have made this purchase sooner!
John Willis : Cheap But Good
I was hesitant to purchase this but glad I did. It's a pretty cheap machine but it works amazing. Used it as soon as it came in and my carpets look almost new. It's not ideal for stairs at all. However for the money this is an awesome product to keep your carpets looking good. If your needing something to bring up really ground in stains that have been in the carpet for years this probably isn't going to do the best job and bring it every bit up Your gonna wanna invest in a heavier duty machine for that. I work in a factory and had a couple fairly large black stains from walking in the house for a couple years. This machine brung them right out. Awesome little machine
Mark V : A very good floor care product for carpet and area rugs.
I really like the size and light weight of the carpet cleaner. It was easy to move around and small enough to store in a closet. After shampooing bedroom carpet there was a noticeable difference in the carpet and it removed a lot of dirt. Suction seemed adequate and there was clearly evidence that the brushes were effective. I liked using it on area rugs as well. I would like to have a larger capacity clean water container. I also believe that the cord should be longer and located higher up on the handle. The as on / off switch also should be positioned higher up near the handle. Although there was some leakage of water when I stopped shampooing I think that the product overall was very effective and a good value for the price. I would recommend it to other people.

Texan felinophile : Get ya one!!
This is my first foray with a light weight carpet cleaner. I’ve rented the behemoths at the grocery or big box store. This little guys outperforms them.
This little dynamo is easy to set up, use & even easy to clean.
I vacuumed my area rugs x2 on the max setting. No stains to pretreat, just dirt.
Wowsers! The Bissell collected enough hair to fill the vacuum bin & there was no question which tank held dirty water.
I expect the rugs to be “walkable” in an hour, as they were barely damp immediately after cleaning.
I’ve already recouped the cost of the machine vs a professional cleaning.
Cannot yet address reliability or longevity, but as stated above, it was worth the cost.
DT : Why didn’t I get this sooner?!
If you’ve never had a carpet shampooer before, this one is fantastic!! I absolutely love this carpet shampooer. I don’t have pets but have two babies and wanted to make sure carpets were clean as they roll around in the carpets all day and there had been some spills and accidents on them as well. It has great suction power and picks up most of the water it uses. You can see it cleaning as the tank fills up with the dirty water. Absolutely recommend for deep cleaning! I ender up washing all my carpets around the house including rugs and mats and stairs. It’s a little awkward to handle on the staircase but it did clean them fairly well I must say. Again, if you have never had a shampooer before and you have carpets, this one is a must have. My only regret is not getting it sooner.

Anthony : Add a heater ???? great vac tho
Well I think it is a great cleaner if it would have a water heater that would make things a lot easier and make this thing 5 stars ???? I used it for about 3 hours on and off so about 2 hours running time I work at a restaurant so I track in this terrible uncleanable grease lol I had to buy Amazon basics enzyme cleaner to get the job done basically I put 1 cup of the enzyme cleaner in a average size weed spray bottle I bought one just for the job and any future ones and basically did a pretreatment with it on the ground let it eat away and get up in there then I went over with the vacuum with a pre mixed tank with the Amazon basic enzyme cleaner and immediately could tell a difference but this was just the agitation it needed and it powered through what most would consider heavily soiled carpet then I went over about 2 times again and wow you can't even tell it was there and the Amazon basic enzyme cleaner continues to eat away at the oil so next time I steam vacuum it should all come up and be done with I will run it till it's clear lol. Hope this helps someone ????
MelissaM : Great for pet messes and small areas
Purchased this after the first few accidents with a new puppy who is being house trained. I had a hand held spot cleaner but felt like I was ruining the carpet by scrubbing it manually and like the rotating bristle aspect of this machine. I’ve used this on both small area rugs and a spot clean on the bedroom carpet and was really surprised at how dirty the water was coming back (see photo). We had our carpets professionally cleaned 5 months ago so I didn’t expect that much dirt. It’s got the carpet looking fresher and no lingering pet odor so I’m quite happy with it. It’s petite enough that I can carry it up the stairs fine (I’m 5’ 4”) and easy to use / empty. The suction power is decent and the carpet is slightly damp after, as it should be, but not wet. If I were cleaning a whole floor, I’d go with a professional for more suction power and the time savings (the width of this unit is not large) but quite pleased with it for the small areas and spot jobs. Last night I didn’t bother with the spray can carpet cleaner and just used this instead for the latest “accident.” Would certainly recommend if you have a pet or small children prone to messes. Note, it does come with a small bottle of the cleaner in the package, I didn’t realize that and purchased more at the same time.
beckymaurer : Condition of scrubber when received
Packaged very nicely. When I went to use the scrubber, it would not suction up the water. I kept trying and no suction. Decided to take the thing apart and see if I could find the problem. I did. There was a lot of "fuzz" where the hose fit for suctioning. Appeared to me that perhaps the scrubber had been sold before and used and returned and was not cleaned properly. I removed the "fuzz" and the scrubber now suctions the water. I had ordered this particular scrubber because it is light-weight and it is a cheaper model. I am 81 years old nd cannot handle one of the larger scrubbers. Hoping this one will work for me. I do not intend to return the scrubber.
Kat Philip : If you're hesitant don't be! It definitely does the job
I have a small 750sqft apartment and for some reason they thought keeping old carpet in the living room and bedroom while putting down cheap vinyl everywhere else was a good idea. I have allergies, like I'm allergic to my 3 pets I own and as you guess, carpet makes it worse. I'm also a huge wine drinker on the weekends and I can't tell you how many times I've spilled doing Chicago "Cell Block Tango" in a wine stupor. This guy picks up everything! Dirt, grime, bad drunken stains! Everything! And everytime my carpet looks new again. You can use oxyclean for those bad times or just regular Bissell in it. Stop hesitating because the price is lower, it definitely does everything you need it to do. The only thing I will say, is go slow after your first spray in sucking up because if you go too fast it won't completely get it.

Mitch Lamarche : Great except for one small annoyance
The product is easy to assemble/take apart, use, and clean. It is lightweight and moves fairly easy. My one issue with it is it collects hair into wet/soapy hairballs that you either have to pick up by hand or vaccum afterwards. Pretty nasty to touch and annoying to have to pick up these hairballs to continue cleaning your carpet. The hairballs also clogs the suction hole in the vaccum and will only become dislodged if you wet the hairball enough with the sprayer, it will slip through suction hole.
Mojo : What a wonderful surprise
I was looking for a small rug machine to replace my larger, cumbersome, one. This little guy got a very high rating in my most trusted machine investigation company. It actually came in 3rd and was a "recommended" buy. I was impressed with its compact feeling without being compact. What I mean is, like, the containers that hold the soap dispenser and the dirty water. I can handle them with one hand, they have a good "feel" to them...and they are easy to pop in and out. And the weight is perfect for me. I can push this baby around with one hand. And the vacuum!!!!!! It beats everything I have ever owned or rented. I am actually using it for more than cleaning up after the animals, I use it to clean one whole room at a time. Here is why. This carpet is so dry I can walk on it after only 3 hours. It's almost dry right after I make a pass. Finally the design of this machine is designed like a sports car. There are fewer, sleeker parts that are MUCH easier to clean than the bigger ones. OK, so I have to fill up and empty the 2 tanks twice for one room. I am happy to do it.
Amazon Customer : Great for area rugs/carpets, but not couches/cars/stairs
This is a good value for cleaning our area rugs, which was my main concern when trying to find a carpet cleaner machine. But I do wish I had thought to look for one that had options for other attachments, like a hose, so I could get crevices in our carpeted stairs and also clean our upholstery items. Even if it cost extra to add the attachments, that would've been better for us. So for those trying to go through the HUNDREDS of options, I'd make a spreadsheet of size/weight, tank size, reviews about reliability on Amazon/Bissell/Target/etc., price, and portability/attachments (i.e. can I use this in my car, couches, stairs, etc.). I would say this item ticks all the boxes except for the last one.
Kingsgirl : Lightweight and Cleans well too!
I love this shampooer! I had this rug professionally cleaned several months ago by a nationally known company and this little machine did a better job. It was very easy to assemble and operate. I shampooed at 10:00 at night and it was dry the next morning. The water tank is a little small but that’s the trade off for the light weight and smaller size which makes storage easier. The cord is plenty long to reach the whole room. It wasn’t crazy loud, about the same as a vacuum cleaner. Just as easy to use. If you are looking for a lightweight, economical and easy to use little shampooer, this would be a good choice!
Randy F : Great little rug cleaner
This cleaner is exactly what I expected from a lightweight, reasonably-priced, residential rug cleaner. It did an excellent job cleaning my low-pile area rugs, which were dirty with 6 months of normal wear (One rug is used in the kitchen "triangle", and two are used as entry mats inside frequently-used doors). The rugs are routinely vacuumed once a week. The sample of cleaning formula that came with the cleaner did a great job on the cooking grease spots on my kitchen rug. The rugs dried under the ceiling fan within 4 hours. I cleaned one 8' x 10', one 5' x 7', and two 3'x 5', and only had to refill/empty the water containers twice, which is not "too frequently" as some of the negative reviewers said; it is about the same as other lightweight rug cleaners I have owned. Fortunately, I have not had any "pet disasters" to try this cleaner on (but am appalled to think that some of the negative reviewers would expect that any rug cleaner could clean up same without the disaster being scraped, blotted and pre-treated!) I am very happy with this purchase.
Stacey_Denver : I will never look at carpets the same! This thing is amazing!
I've had a large area rug for just 1.5 years and got tired of trying all the spray on carpet cleaners and not seeing results. I don't wear shoes inside over 90% of the time, but I do have a dog (she has never had an accident or done anything but walk on this rug tho). This thing cleaned above and beyond any expectations! It did take a full day to get it "clean" but was worth the effort. I literally went over it approx 15 times with the Bissell shampoo being careful to extract as much as possible (which means going slow). I found that if you do this, for every gallon you put down, it will pick up that same gallon and leave the carpet virtually *dry* (I was wearing socks and they were hardly even damp). I shampooed from all directions - vertically, horizontally, diagonally - and after the 1st 15 runs, the dirty water was still coming out dark brown which shocked me. Knowing that shampoo can actually attract dirt, I then decided to just use it with plain hot water for another 15+ runs. I was able to extract all the shampoo but the dirty water was still coming up dark brown! 8 hours later, I gave up - my carpet looks great (it is a faux antique and the pattern and colors now pop again), but I am not thrilled that is is still not completely clean - not the machines fault at all! I used to have a professional carpet cleaner as a friend who did all my carpets and rugs - I would watch and chat with him as he worked - NEVER did he go over a carpet more than twice and I know that this machine had the same power to extract than his truck mount did. It really makes you think...when you sit on carpet, even freshly cleaned, I will now know that it really isn't *clean*! My only issue with the machine is how often you have to change the clean and dirty tanks (which adds to the time factor) but it is easy enough to do, and larger tanks would probably make the process more physically demanding in terms of weight of the machine. I loved it enough to buy one for my son and will never hire a "pro" again!

Mitch Lamarche : Great except for one small annoyance
The product is easy to assemble/take apart, use, and clean. It is lightweight and moves fairly easy. My one issue with it is it collects hair into wet/soapy hairballs that you either have to pick up by hand or vaccum afterwards. Pretty nasty to touch and annoying to have to pick up these hairballs to continue cleaning your carpet. The hairballs also clogs the suction hole in the vaccum and will only become dislodged if you wet the hairball enough with the sprayer, it will slip through suction hole.
MD Linn : EASY to Use and WORKS!
Most implements like this are complex to use and clean up after using. Not this one. Super easy to put together, move for filling/emptying, and, best yet, to clean after use. It's so simple to operate and it pulled an alarming amount of sand out of my large room-size rugs, even with daily vacuuming by our Roomba. The dull, dingy cream-colored backgrounds are back to original coloration and the nap looks like new. I was really impressed by the quality and ease of use. The price of this unit is less than I was quoted for a professional to come out and clean one time. This is my first Bissel anything, and I am very impressed and happy with it. (I have six dogs and two cats in my house so this is a glowing recommendation for this product.)
A.M. : Carpet’s like new!!
I rarely write reviews, but am so blown away by this little shampooer that I HAD to. Like others have said, the tanks are small, and you’ll need to empty / refill every 10-15 minutes. We live in a small apartment, and don’t have a ton of carpeting to clean, so this is fine for us. Also, because we have a small space, the machine needed to be compact for storage purposes, which it is (about the size of a standard vacuum.) Our carpeting was filthy, and no amount of vacuuming and spot cleaning could fix it. 45 minutes with this little shampooer (three tank refills), and our carpets literally look brand new! Fantastic results, lightweight to handle, easy to assemble. If you don’t have a massive amount of square footage requiring more mileage of the tank, do not hesitate! This shampooer is a dream!
Rachel : Pretty good, pretty gross
This little guy does a pretty good job. I’m fairly grossed out at what it gets up from our carpet. Just a few cons: Even after vacuuming the space beforehand, it still pulls up lint/hair that you’ll need to pick up after. I kind of find this a “pro” too though… get that crap out of my carpet! The clean water tank is fairly small and doesn’t last long - I had to refill it just to finish our walk-in closet carpet. And the dirty water tank is deceptive. You’d think you could let it fill up more but once it’s about 25% full, you have to empty it or it stops suctioning. This cleaner will be great for weekly/biweekly maintenance. Just gotta suffer through the emptying/refilling if you’re really deep cleaning. I’m on round two of our closet cleaning and still pulling out gross water!

Roy Haidar : Do not recommend
Used it once.. the brush belt was already broken. The brush wasn’t rolling so I unscrewed it to see if I anything wrong. The belt was completely damaged. The suction wasn’t great and the machine is very loud when in use.

Jeremy Wells : Wow, so far, so GREAT! 2987 model
Wow, so far I'm impressed. It pulled a TON of dirt out of the carpet. I'll be using it all over the house. 2987 model
PROS: Well-packed Easy, quick to assemble Very clear, direct, and short directions Very easy to use Not heavy
One CON: Clean water and cleaning solution tank is small, maybe 15 minutes or so worth of time. However, bottom (dirty) tank holds more than one tank of the clean water, and its easy to fill clean water tank. So, this is a minor complaint and like I said above, it's small/light unit with I like.
Sherry : Whoah ...
So I wasn’t expecting much. I have a large Bissell machine that is quite heavy and hard to clean when you’re done. I thought I’d get this small one. OMG ... the water I got out of my carpet was disgusting. In all fairness, the carpet is creeping close to 40 years old and I have a geriatric chihuahua that stays in that room during the day. The orange color came back. I’m quite impressed so far. My only issue was the suction being so strong, the poor old carpet was literally coming up and clogging the dirty water tank and brushes. I had to stop and empty the tank to unclog everything. I’m ok with that. I didn’t realize and dumped about a pound of carpet fibers down my sink that I had to dig out. Now I know. I may have to update this again the next time I use the machine. I am fairly certain it was all the carpet chunks clogging up the works. Make sure to vacuum the area to cleaned before using. To be so small, it does well. It’s light and easy to handle. You can undo all the pieces to clean it. I hope it holds up this well!
Jricky : Works well
For an inexpensive all most 100% plastic machine this works pretty well. Easy to assemble. Directions say to spray cleaner on the forward and backward paths before suctioning. However it seems to go through a lot of fluid to do that so only applied it in one direction and reapplied in really dirty areas. Easy to use but it holds limited amount of cleaner. Dirty water container looks like it holds a lot but fills up when about a quarter of the way. So you're constantly filling and emptying. But that's the compromise at this price point. Also on/off switch is in about the most inconvenient place they could have put it. Rather narrow cleaning path but compact design takes up little storage space.
Shauna : Two thumbs up from me. Awesome little item. Definitely worth the money
This little thing is pretty impressive. I was shocked by what it pulled out of my carpet. I am renting a house right now so it was actually pretty scary to see what was in there from the prior renters. I’m glad it’s gone. The before and after is amazing. So far so good. Definitely gets a thumbs up for the price and how small it is. You do have to change the dirty water and get clean water quite often but it’s very simple. You can only clean about half of the average living room at a time before you have to get more clean water. But like I said it is very simple. Not sure how it does with stairs yet going to find out tomorrow. I am definitely looking forward to using it for spot cleaning. We just got a puppy and accidents happen. This machine will be super easy to get out and do a deep clean very quickly. So I recommend this Item very much so. I think you will be very impressed and happy with what you get.
mbcontorchick : Defective Product
So halfway through our Den, the Bissell TurboCLean PowerBrush just STOPPED working. It has only been out of the box for ONE DAY! It did a great job on what was done, but no matter what we do, it will not turn back on! The light glows at the switch, but nothing is working! We emptied the dirty water container and cleaned all around it. We emptied the clean water container, cleaned it and refilled it. Still nothing! I got a 3 year warranty for this item, so I am looking forward to see if it was worth it!

Kindle Customer : power in a small package
This is a small carpet cleaner. I used it out of the box today and cleaned a 9x7 carpet. Had to reload clean water 3 times. The sample it came with was enough for 1 and 1/2 rounds, but fortunately for me my prior cleaner was the same brand and I had leftovers from prior use. I love this guy! My last Bissel cost more but was a bigger model. It was a bear to clean. Even though it was supposed to be for pet households, it had to be literally taken apart to clean the brush. I finally scrapped it after I was unable to clean all the gunk out of it and wrestled with the dirty water tank. This machine was a breeze to clean. I thought I had vacuumed well enough before I used it. I was wrong. lol I followed the instructions for the first third of the rug I was cleaning then discovered that those were great for a low nap carpet. What I cleaned had a thick nap so there was way too much shampoo. I halved the amount of spray time and had better results. Because the nap was thick it is taking some time to dry, but I am okay with that as the results were good. I may have to run the machine again with plain water tomorrow, just to get the excess out, but I'm okay with that. Learning experience. I did do a small portion of regular carpet and had good results also without the extra cleaner being a problem. I used the coupon included for a trifecta of cleaning products directly from Bissell. Saved over $15 dollars on the products and did not have to pay for postage. This is not a machine I would recommend if you have a whole house to shampoo unless you are willing to spend a lot of time refilling the clean water tank. The dirty tank held all three runs with room to spare. Like I said, it was easy to clean afterwards, easy to remove the fur picked up. Great little machine, lightweight and easy to use.
Follow up: I went over the rug again two days after the first use, with no shampoo in the tank, clean water only. There was still a lot of brown water being pulled up, so obviously my carpet was dirtier than I thought. I also found that the suction stopped working because the small filter under the front plastic piece was full of fur. Easy to rectify. Love this machine!
Sunjeet Baadkar : Fantastic! Carpets like new!
Ok, so I have been constantly looking to get a carpet cleaner cause I have a new puppy. After a lot of reading and searching, I decided on this. I was hesitant, but the reviews and price made it look great. So after trying it out, I was very happy. I will say this, though: If your carpets get a lot of use, you may have to clean multiple times. To get my carpets perfectly clean after never having used a wet vac, I had to vacuum with a regular vacuum cleaner, then use this wetvac, then wait for it to dry, then use the regular vacuum again, and then use the wet vac once more. The first wetvac usage pulls up a lot the regular vacuum leaves behind and you end up with these soggy clumps of grossness. That's why a second passthrough is needed. However, after this initial issue, you only need to do it once like normal every time. Also, make sure to clean out the brushes and inner parts as the instructions recommend because it will hinder the suction if you don't.

Pasadena Dave : Surprisingly effective, great for pet accidents, leaks a bit
I was quoted $160-$200 to deep clean my two carpeted bedrooms, hence my DIY spirit brought me to purchasing this Bissell vacuum. I paired this purchase with Hoover pet cleaner additive and have been very impressed with the results.
I normally use my Dyson V8 vacuum and spot clean with Folex carpet cleaner, so I didn’t think this vacuum would do much. Boy was I wrong!!! There was a surprising amount of dirt and hair extracted from this, so much so that I question my original love for the Dyson haha. I would highly highly recommend this vacuum for pet owners. 90% eliminated stains on first pass and got rid of the odor too.
The one downside, even if you keep the seals tight is that it will leak a few drips here and there. I’m okay with it, but just be warned not to jostle the vacuum too much or you will see some dirty water drip out.
Bristol : So far so good
I just received my cleaner today and cleaned my hallway where my dogs pee. I first cleaned it with my bissel big green machine (which is amazing) two weeks ago but wanted to see if anything would come up since this is such a bad area and couldn’t probably stand cleaning 1x/month. Sure enough, the water was a light brown. It was originally like chocolate milk! This indicates that the cleaner is working. I purchased this cleaner for smaller areas I want to touch up without having to drag out my heavy, big green. Seems to be working great but time will tell.

D. Ford : Great for pet stains and high traffic areas
I wasn’t expecting to professionally clean all of my carpets, nor clean any of them all over. I just had a high traffic area that was especially difficult to keep clean and another area prone to pet stains. This carpet cleaner did exactly what I wanted. It was easy to assemble and get ready for an action test run by just following instructions. I vacuumed the areas first to remove pet hair that could require unnecessary brush cleaning afterward. In a matter of minutes I completeled to task, and I could finally see the original color of the carpet, free of the stains. This pretty much used the tank holding the cleaner, but refilling it is not much of a chore, while the tank holding the residue was only partially filled. So I decided to go after other areas, and I actually did manage to clean the entire 12X15 area. I now realize I can actually clean more than just small areas, as long as I don’t mind refilling the cleaner tank. So, I do have a full home carpet cleaner now that just needs refilling the cleaner and emptying the holding tank. It essentially paid for itself in one day compared to having someone come in and do the carpet cleaning. Yes, it takes some time and effort, but this does a great job, is yours to use whenever needed and the only additional expense is buying more carpet cleaner solution., which isn’t that expensive!

Lindsay : Best Carpet Cleaner on the Market
I have fairly thick carpet and the joy of two cats and the best puppy dog an owner can have. He is a golden retriever and loves to get things dirty as much as he loves to be pet. I also have two children who love to "accidently" spill on the carpet mentioned previously. With all of that the right carpet cleaner is definitely needed in my household. The Bissell TurboClean Powerbrush Pet Upright carpet cleaner did not disappoint. It cleans night and day better than my previous cleaner I would use. This carpet cleaner is pure MAGIC. I caution if you don't want to feel like you get new carpet after every use, then don't get this. To finalize, if you are looking for a new carpet cleaner and have the best pets ever that dirty everything furiously along with ok disgusting children, this is the correct choice, can't go wrong.
sarah : Good/petite carpet cleaner
Very good product, perfect for my small area rug. Used it as soon as I got it. Very easy instructions and easy to assemble. Had to fill clean water jar x2 and possibly 4x next time I order to do better job. Was pleasantly surprise that it did such good job at suctioning dirt out of my carpet, had a few years without deep cleaning it and now we have a dog so it’s even more prone to getting stained. Used the sample bottle of Bissell pro 4x Max clean + protect formula, that came in the packaging. Will try pre treatment on stains for next time to make the job even better. Vacuum also easy to clean and store since it’s so petite, I would only suggest to drain water from jars well and to place vacuum within a basin or something that can hold the water after that may spill while it’s stored. Carpet left wet, but not soaking wet, possibly expect it to dry within next 2 hrs . Not bad gadget for the price.
Tanisha Cook : Easy to use and clean, gets the job done!
Great machine, our dog has constantly peed in the formal dining room (which we use as a playroom) off the main entry hall and I always feel like you walk in and smell pee and dog. Today we came home to find our dog pooped in there and of course it was diarrhea so not an easy clean up. The before photo is after allot of pre-treating and I used the Carpet cleaner and went over that spot about 5 times as well as the whole room. The caret looks so clean now and the whole house smells fresh and clean finally! It was super easy to set up and get started. I thought it might be difficult to take apart and routinely clean after each use but it’s actually easier than my Cross wave. I love the compact easy to maneuver design too. Most carpet cleaners are big and bulky but this one was like using a regular vacuum. So glad I no longer have to worry about being embarrassed by the smell of urine from my dog when people walk in.
Bissell hit a home run with this product! I'm so pleased with it performance in cleaning my hallway carpets, dinning room carpet, and living room carpet. I don't recommend it for area rugs, the suction is too strong for no backing light area rugs, this product is for home carpets!
The cleaning solution used is really good, the suction really sucks up the liquid, and heating really dries the remaining moisture. The carpet will still feel slightly moist due the to the thickness of the carpet fibers, and in my case, the carpet was totally dry the next day.
By it here at Amazon because if your not satisfied they have an excellent return or replacement policy.
NR$JAKI : Super Easy To Use!!! Works Well!
So, I let this thing sit in a box for a month because I dreaded putting it together. Face palm moment when I opened it and it was THREE pieces that snaps together with no tools involved. Took less than five minutes. Literally filled it up with hot water and Bubba’s Pet Carpet Cleaner solution and using this thing was as easy as any vacuum cleaner. Learned really fast that holding down the trigger let go a lot of the solution, so push it forward while holding the trigger and release while piling it back. Ran it over the wet area a few time to suck up any extra water and the floor was fully dry in less than 12 hours. I cleaned my carpet a small section per day so I could focus on the problem areas and not have to worry about walking on an entirely wet room. I bought one of those pet stain UV flashlights to make sure I didn’t miss spots that my Pom LOVES to wee around and when I was done with the cleaner they were completely GONE!!! Don’t be like me and doubt the effectiveness of this carpet cleaner because it’s under $100. I’m kicking myself for not getting one sooner. It’s actually a pleasure to use and easy as heck that my kids could use it on carpet spills.
I’m not posting a before and after pic. BELIEVE the ones that are already posted. It works WELL. Stop thinking about it like I did and buy this.

Tony C : This is very good for rugs but is not enough for a whole carpeted floor.
I use this on a couple 9x12' synthetic rugs and smaller rugs. And it is good for that. If you plan on using this on a large fully carpeted area, think again. You need to be looking at something in the price range of $500.
Having said that, after using this, I realized that carpets/rugs are just large dust rags that do nothing but absorb dust...no matter how much you vacuum. The dark colored water that results from cleaning the carpet is really just super dusty water. I have no carpeting in my house. It's all hard laminate flooring with large rugs that we replace every 2-4 years (if I can get one year for every $100 I spend on the rug, I've won). And I run a robot vacuum every other day on a schedule. This setup is so much better than carpeting and this machine taught me this. There is no reason in the world you want to keep carpeting or rugs more than 4 years, tops. After that, just get rid of it. It's entirely too dusty and dirty. And, obviously, changing carpeting every 4 years seems like it would be too costly/hassle-some. But running a robot vacuum on a hard floor, plus a swiffer wetjet mopping, is so much cleaner than any carpet. This machine taught me that carpets are just...naaaasty.
I use this machine once a month on my large rugs and it keep the rugs nice and fresh. If you don't know when the last time your rug was cleaned, I strongly recommend you do a first cleaning with nothing but plain water. Also, use the hottest water you're allowed to..which is 140F water. Then go back and redo it with the cleaning solution. You might even consider doing plain water twice and then using the cleaning solution for a third run. If you clean the rug monthly, there is no need to do a double or triple wash each time. But any longer than monthly, and you need to a double wash each time. I promise. Having used this several times for a few months, I've learned rugs (and carpet) take on dust like I did not know before getting this. And yes I do vacuum with an upright and a robot vacuum regularly.
The biggest problem with this unit is that the clean- and dirty-water reservoirs are super small. You end up filling/emptying very often which makes the process take a lot longer. The counterargument is that this allows the clean water to stay hot. I leave a pot of water on the stove, which I refill when I refill the clean water reservoir. I mix the clean stove water with hot tap water to a temp of 140F. I use a cooking thermometer to check the temp. Then I pour into the reservoir and then add cleaning solution. The hot water honestly does make a big difference.
I also run a dehumidifier and ceiling fan (on high) in the room with the rug when I'm done.
Also, you have to clean the machine itself after every use. Big hassle, but you have to do it. Since I have to take apart to clean it, I store the machine in the box it came in. You could leave it assembled in a closet. But since it's easy to take apart and put back together, I just put it back in its box.
I also like the Bissell brand of cleaning solutions that I've used. Have a nice not-overpowering smell and they do leave behind a little protective coating.
Armando Lucio : Make sure to read instructions before using!
I didn't follow the instructions to a T and this still cleaned my carpet lol.
No pets here. Just used it in a bedroom with light traffic. Carpet wasn't dirty at all based on appearance. I didn't vacumm the floor first with a regular vacuum (mistake!) It started leaving wet, disgusting dust bunnies on the carpet after a while, which was my fault. The vacumm still managed to pick them up after a few passes over it. Carpet still looked cleaner after passing the vacumm over a clean looking carpet. Couldn't believe the nasty, black water it was collecting. Definitely gets the job done.
Takes a while for carpet to dry. Doesn't completely leave carpet dry and it still feels moist after many passes , so keep that in mind. Vacuum maintenance isn't too bad, except for the head of the vacuum where it sucks up stuff. That's a little annoying to clean, but I managed. It's a great buy to clean nasty carpets yourself and it DEFINITELY WORKS
Haven : DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY CHEAP
TERRIBLE CHEAP PRODUCT this thing is absolutely the worst. For $100 I didnt expect it to be so cheaply made. Flimsy plastic and this is not made for pets. I have a short hair dog and hair is all over this thing. The suction probably has to do with that. It stopped working after 2 min of use I've tried cleaning and it and refilling it, not working. I'd give this negative stars if I could.
KA : Best Carpet Cleaner I've ever had
I have had cleaners in the past- they were a waste of money. When I got the box it was so small I said ugh- they sent me the wrong one! But I opened and assembled quickly. It is small so not to heavy to push and pull. The tank is small- so for big rooms I had to dump the old water and fill up the new water a couple of times. But as light as it was, it was worth the trade off. I have carpet that is 22 years old and I have a dog who tracks in who knows what. The worst part of the carpets were the hallway and near the back door and with just one use, it looks 1000% better. I am very impressed with this machine and feel it is worth the cost. They included a small trial size of formula.
Marcia Moore : Good for small areas
This carpet cleaner works well and really cleans the carpet. I washed my 2 bedrooms home, living room, bedrooms, hallway with high traffic and the carpet is pretty clean. It removed the stains as well. The only down side of it is that the clean water tank is very small and the dirty water tank when is filled up to the limit line that is very low considering the size of the tank, it stops sucking the water back from the carpet. You'll have to empty the dirty water tank that is not filled even up to the middle of the tank. Once you have the empty tank back in place, then you can go back and work again on the area you stopped and also go back to other areas to make sure it sucks the water from the carpet. For a 2 bedroom home, it's fine and it seems it is for very small areas since it's designed to clean after pet dirty spots.
Chris B. : 100 % yes!!
I'm not really sure what the point of me posting the pictures is. It's not like you can tell how clean the area rug is. I should have taken a picture of the water in the container after I used it. What I can tell you is, I vacuumed two area rugs very thoroughly with a vacuum first. It got a good bit of whatever was on the rugs up. Then I used the Bissell, and the water was a deep dark cloudy gray. Quite dirty I am embarrassed to say even though I vacuum regularly. With that said, this thing did an amazing job of cleaning the two area rugs. There's no denying the filth in the water that before was completely clear. Also it should note, this thing is super easy to change out and empty the water. Anyone can do it including an elderly person who may normally otherwise not be able to do those kinds of things. Very happy with this purchase.

Get it!

KB - Seattle, WA : Very happy with this Bissell product
After reading a fair number of both positive and negative reviews, I ordered this carpet cleaner. I'm very happy with this purchase. I'm thrilled that cleaning my own carpets turned out to be so easy, fast, effective, and resulted in huge cost and time savings compared with having to pay and coordinate appointment times with a cleaning company. After two uses, it's more than paid for itself.
My pros and cons perspective...
Pros: Simple and quick set up out of the box,
Straightforward and user-friendly preparations for filling the tank with water and cleaning solution (a sample bottle of cleaning solution is included),
Quieter than my vacuum cleaner,
Lightweight for easy operation (didn't aggravate my upper extremity tendonitis or nerve impingement any more than any of my other chores),
Compact for convenient storage,
Good suction (the instructions suggest one forward and one backward pass for suction, but I didn't see a reason not to do a few more suction passes to try to assist the drying process),
Carpet felt fully dried with normal carpet traffic resuming in 3-4 hours and was only slightly damp immediately after being cleaned,
The clean tank size holds the perfect amount for my main carpeted area (a full tank was enough to clean approximately a 12' x 12' area; a few spots needed multiple passes for older, more set in stains),
Dumping and rinsing dirty tank is easy,
Very easy to remove and reattach both tanks,
Easy to keep the machine looking clean and easy to wipe around the brush area after operation to remove accumulated clumps of carpet fibers/hair (it's impressive how much my vacuum misses or can't suck up that this machine is able to gather even if I have to pick up the wet clumps),
Peace of mind knowing this simple to use and effective cleaning tool is convenient and immediately accessible for when human error or pet accidents happen
Cons: Wish the machine was capable of holding and utilizing hotter water,
On/off switch was not obvious at first and is a little awkward to access (it's on the back near the bottom of the machine, it's a bit too stiff and difficult to press and is too small to use your foot to press it [I guess I'm used to having an on/off on vacuums that's higher up or that you can engage with your foot down low; however, I do appreciate that this on/off is covered in clear rubber/plastic to protect it),
Marks on the tank for water and cleaning solution levels are only indicated for a full tank (a couple weeks after first cleaning my carpets with this machine, a mug of coffee was spilled which didn't require a full tank of solution, so I estimated the amounts for a half tank),
Leaves puddles after completing a carpet cleaning if allowed to sit (I've been ending my carpet cleaning process as close to the front or back door as possible so that I can immediately take the machine outside to drip dry while I empty the dirty tank and then clean off various parts of the machine with it outside),
Overall, this machine exceeded my expectations. I recommend giving this machine a try for the combination of price, convenience, compact size, effective cleaning capability, and ease of operation.

Ellen R. : Missing Pieces
I REALLY wanted to love this machine, the reviews are great. I unboxed it today and there is no handle... I didn't even know that was possible. I thought maybe it was hidden inside the water reservoir, nope. Just no handle. Returning. So bummed. I was on a deadline and really wanted this machine.
Roy Haidar : Do not recommend
Used it once.. the brush belt was already broken. The brush wasn’t rolling so I unscrewed it to see if I anything wrong. The belt was completely damaged. The suction wasn’t great and the machine is very loud when in use.
Avatar1 : Surprisingly good
I initially wanted a Bissel Little Green as I'd had one years ago - no longer available. Gave away in a move. I liked it, now needed another. reading the reviews it seemed a good choice in general. And, to my surprise, it really is. It snaps together in minutes. No tools. My carpets are huge flat indoor outdoor that have furniture on them, I have dogs, it's hassle to move it all. I was hoping for the best. It took a number of passes, and likely will have to do a second session to get the carpets ( did I mention Ivory color? ) back to original, or close. But, geez...SO much better. Only used on flat surfaces, suctions could be better I guess. The old Little Green wasn't as strong and took more work in small spaces for results. THis covers alot of territory, just have to refill the Clean Water/solution bottle more frequently than I'd prefer. Lightweight, easy to push, fairly small footprint for storage, easy to clean. Gratifying for a chore I'm not fond of doing! Keeper for me. Note - I have no idea what may happen with pile or loop carpet, wool, nonetheless deep pile. That's my experience so far, anyway. Worth the money for me!

You'll have to empty the dirty water tank that is not filled even up to the middle of the tank. Once you have the empty tank back in place, then you can go back and work again on the area you stopped and also go back to other areas to make sure it sucks the water from the carpet. For a 2 bedroom home, it's fine and it seems it is for very small areas since it's designed to clean after pet dirty spots.
mbcontorchick : Defective Product
So halfway through our Den, the Bissell TurboCLean PowerBrush just STOPPED working. It has only been out of the box for ONE DAY! It did a great job on what was done, but no matter what we do, it will not turn back on! The light glows at the switch, but nothing is working! We emptied the dirty water container and cleaned all around it. We emptied the clean water container, cleaned it and refilled it. Still nothing! I got a 3 year warranty for this item, so I am looking forward to see if it was worth it!
Kindle Fan : Pleasantly Surprised!
I've wanted to be able to clean my own carpet (instead of using a professional service) for a long time because my carpet is old and gets dirty quickly and easily. (I have so much stuff in my apartment that it I will have to move almost everything out in order to install a new carpet, so I've been trying to get by with just cleaning!) I had given up on the idea of buying my own carpet cleaner because my apartment is small and I didn't think I had a place to store a big, bulky carpet cleaner. However, after reading the reviews of this one I thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did! It's small and light enough that I was able to fit it in the same broom closet that I use for my vacuum cleaner. And it actually worked! Really well! I did have to replace the dirty water frequently, but it wasn't a problem because this thing is so easy to use. Note that I have area rugs sitting on top of my carpet to cover up worn spots, so in my case, I really only need to clean the areas that are visible between rugs. For an entire apartment, especially if the carpet is pretty dirty, unless you're really patient I would suggest first getting a professional cleaner to do the whole thing, then using the Bissell to spot clean as needed. That might be easier! But once it's clean, it should be a snap to keep it clean with this thing. instead of having to get a professional service every quarter (or even every 2 months) and live with dirty carpets in between visits, I bet I can now cut down my professional visits to once every six months, maybe even once a year. This thing is so easy to use that I can just tackle the dirty areas on a weekly basis as needed. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. And it really cleaned. Highly recommend!
